Women's Handgun Class
The Women's Handgun Class is the next step in our women’s series, designed to build on the foundational skills acquired in our Beginner Handgun class or through private lessons with our instructors. This class provides a supportive and empowering environment where women can enhance their handgun skills and gain confidence in their ability to protect themselves and their loved ones.
Course Prerequisites: To attend this class, students must have completed a Beginner Handgun class or had a private lesson with Haleigh or another FDT instructor prior to September 14th.

Our Women's Handgun Class offers comprehensive training that begins with a review of basic fundamentals and progresses to advanced defensive techniques. Through hands-on practice and expert instruction, students will develop proficiency in various aspects of handgun use and personal defense.
Topics Covered:
1. Review of Basic Fundamentals: Start with a quick review of essential handgun fundamentals, including grip, stance, sight alignment, trigger control, and breathing techniques. This ensures a solid foundation for advanced skills.
2. Communication Skills: Learn effective communication strategies, including what information to communicate and to whom, enhancing your ability to respond under stress.
3. Proper Draw and Reholstering: Practice proper drawing and reholstering techniques to ensure smooth and safe transitions. Emphasis is placed on speed and accuracy.
4. Advanced Stances: Explore various stances that enhance stability and accuracy. Understand the advantages of different stances in various defensive situations.
5. Reloading Techniques: Master efficient reloading techniques, including tactical and emergency reloads, to keep your firearm operational during critical moments.
6. Malfunction Clearing: Learn to quickly and effectively clear common handgun malfunctions, ensuring your ability to respond without hesitation.
7. Direction of Movement: Develop skills for moving safely and effectively while maintaining control of your firearm. Learn how to navigate different environments and scenarios.
8. Utilizing Cover and Concealment: Understand the differences between cover and concealment, and learn how to use both effectively to protect yourself during an engagement.
9. Bracing for Stable Shots: Practice techniques for bracing and stabilizing your shots, improving accuracy and control in various shooting positions.
10. Deliberate Pie Technique: Learn the deliberate pie technique for safely and effectively clearing corners and navigating through rooms.
11. L-Shape Corners: Gain proficiency in handling L-shape corners, a common scenario in defensive situations, ensuring you can move and engage targets effectively.
12. Kneeling/Sitting Engagement: Develop skills for engaging targets from kneeling and sitting positions, enhancing your versatility and adaptability in different defensive scenarios.
